ABOUT US

In 1983, several UC Berkeley alumnae working in San Francisco's commercial real estate industry began meeting informally. The association became Women in Real Estate - WIRE. As the group grew, it formalized lunch meetings at L'Olivier restaurant in San Francisco, then later added informal member-only "Brown Bag" lunches.

Why WIRE?

WIRE is a small, informal organization of 80-plus members, able to offer a friendly and supportive setting for meeting new or long-time colleagues. Attending WIRE's formal luncheons and informal lunch programs is an excellent way to find out what others are doing in the commercial real estate industry. Our speakers are experts in their field, who have provided us with not only their business expertise but with personal insights into how they got where they are today. Meeting formats include guest presentations, field trips, panel discussions, and "hands-on" training sessions, with a Holiday Luncheon in December.

Membership is open to commercial real estate professionals with a minimum of two years experience in the industry. Represented fields are: appraisal, architecture, asset management, brokerage, construction, consulting, development, finance, law, mortgage banking, and title insurance.

WIRE notifies members of monthly speaker programs, upcoming events, job announcements, and member news through an email subscription service, or listserv.
